Dear Guests: 

All guests (teachers and dancers included) aged eight and older will require special event wristbands to access the competition area of the North American Irish Dance Championships. These wristbands are available for a fee of $100 per person per day at the Registration desk right outside the competition ballrooms. Persons aged seven and younger do not require wristbands to access the venue. 

The $100 fee will be waived for anyone who presents a valid Louisiana State Driver’s License and/or an official student identification card from any Louisiana University. Local daily admission rates will apply instead ($25 a day)

The $100 fee will also be waived for persons registered in the official Irish dance block at one of our many host hotels. Wristbands will be issued relative to the number of people booked in the room and the number of days booked. Guests staying at a host hotel but not booked in the block will not be entitled to receive complimentary wristbands so please review your booking and make sure you are in our block. No exceptions will be made! 

The event earns much needed sponsorship funds through contracted hotel room bookings, which is why reservations must be made in a block-type system. Although cumbersome, the wristband policy has proven to be the best for the successful running of the event to ensure its financial needs are met. It also helps to secure low room rates (especially over holiday weekends) and in order to get those low rates, booking guarantees must be achieved. 

Simply booking in the hotel isn’t sufficient as there is no clear way to track who is in the hotel for Irish dance and who is in the hotel for any other reason. 

Here is how the system will work: Guests of the event booked within the official room block at a designated hotel will need submit a completed Wristband Form by June 15th. The link for this form is now CLOSED. Envelopes with your wristbands will be available for pick up at the Registration Desk just outside the competition ballrooms in the Hilton Riverside. Please remember that the lines for this can take a long time! We will try to process you as quickly as possible but please be patient as our volunteers will be hard at work doing the best they can! We will accept cash only - no checks or credit cards accepted!

Guests who lose their wristbands or apply the wrong ones will have to purchase replacements at the Registration Desk outside of the competition ballrooms. Volunteer members are instructed not to issue replacements for any reason and are on strict inventory monitoring.
